When my mother founded Lavish Interior Design in Dubai, we had just relocated from Toronto. She was entering one of the most competitive markets in the world and needed to build a brand from scratch, in a city where we knew almost no one.
I worked alongside her on the business development side, which meant I sat through interview after interview with marketing agencies. Almost every one was the same: thin content capability, vague promises, and pricing that had no relationship to the quality on offer.
